Introduction
Over its successful run from 2019 to 2025, our Joint Summer School has cultivated a strong network of collaboration between campuses and institutions in Southeast Asia and Southeast Europe. The 2025 Joint Summer School exemplified this rich interregional dialogue, gathering more than 50 participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia to discuss the vital connections between the two regions.
The Joint Summer School 2026 continues the efforts initiated in 2025 and aims to bring together scholars, researchers, and experts from Southeast Asia and Southeast Europe to explore the multifaceted connections and synergies between the two regions in the area of social and political sciences and economics.
By fostering a collaborative environment, the conference seeks to enhance understanding, promote research, and encourage multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches to address common challenges and opportunities.
